Hello, this is our first blog! We are The Flower Hub, based in Kenya. Here is a little bit about us to help you see who we are and how we can help you.
The flower industry is full of individuals with different roles, from growers to suppliers and distributors, florists and the market itself. For someone looking to import flowers from overseas, the process could be a little bit overwhelming. Here is where The Flower Hub comes in: We believe our customers deserve easy access to the most beautiful flowers. So, The Flower Hub works to ensure worry-free delivery of cut flowers from Kenya directly to customers worldwide.
We procure our flowers from Kenya, a country recognised globally as a top source of fresh-cut quality flowers. Our mission is to simplify the supply chain and allow our customers access to fresh flowers; we aim to provide the best product from carefully chosen farms in Kenya.
Founded in 2005, The Flower Hub began by sharing knowledge. Through refining techniques and working closely with local growers in East Africa and global importers, The Flower Hub has developed a unique end-to-end process resulting in high-quality products delivered on time. Over the years, we have grown into a 28-person team with global markets in the Middle East, the UK, Holland, the USA, France, and Scandinavia.
Today, we take a look into how flower traders, retailers and wholesale buyers can benefit from us.
The Flower Hub is specialised in sourcing and procuring flowers for its clients. We have access to the best farms in Kenya- our catalogue is large enough to accommodate every clients needs. We select farms based on factors like environmental consciousness, ethics and certification. Kenyan flowers have longer vase life, large and intermediary head sizes, and come in all lengths, shapes and sizes – its not just Roses. We pride ourselves, having started out in Hypericum, with a wide range of Summer Flowers as well as fillers and of course, Roses. Just let us know what you are looking for and we can provide you with all the options.
Shorter Supply Chain
After processing a client’s order, farms ship the flowers to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi within 24-48 hours. JKIA has specialised refrigerated containment facilities exclusively meant for fresh-cut flower storage. The Flower Hub is based in the airport, and we have our own cold storage area to easily monitor your flowers. We eliminate the need to go through auctions, ensuring that our clients receive fresher flowers with a longer vase life.
Faster delivery of products
TFH has a Quality Control team with a ‘boots-on-the-ground’ approach. They inspect the flowers to guarantee that they are in good condition and to the right specifications, before departing Kenya. After a ‘positive release’, we ship them directly to our client’s location. Our QC team are not only in the airport but on the farm. We believe it is vital to our business that we can offer the clients the ‘boots-on-the-ground’ approach. We can be on the farm to resolve any issues, spot new products, guide the farms through specific customer details and work with them to guarantee that direct relationship and dedicated service. They also carry out farm audits, ensuring the farms we source from are ethical and up to our standards. We support the KFC Silver standard.
Consolidation of documents, freight and logistics.
We combine your orders and documentation efficiently and accurately with our dedicated team in the airport. All your flowers are on one invoice and one set of documents simplifying your import process. Our team also handles the freight and customs management. Whether the flower are delivered to your door, or your airport, we are there to make sure it goes smoothly.
As mentioned above, we believe in our boot-on-the-ground approach – local knowledge, local language, local time zone, but with international experience. So whatever you are looking for, remember: We believe our customers deserve easy access to the most beautiful flowers. So, The Flower Hub works to ensure worry-free delivery of cut flowers from Kenya directly to customers worldwide.
