Not so long ago the consumer image of Christmas flowers would be centred on stores overflowing with potted plants – Poinsettia, Hellebore and Amaryllis. Traditions run deep but we are now able to fill the home at Christmas with beautiful cut flowers in many shades and of excellent quality, offering a far greater choice to the consumer in terms of their Christmas colour scheme and creative opportunities.
This year, all being well, there will be more freedom of movement during the Christmas period, and we expect many will be travelling to visit families and friends throughout the month of December. Beautiful bouquets are the perfect gift, and hopefully we will see flower sales reflecting this with an early start.
Christmas is on a Sunday this year, providing a longer holiday period for many, so we expect the peak sales to be on the 19th– 23rd December.
Orders are flowing in already, so please contact your account manager or email info@theflowerhub.co.ke as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. For our part, we need to plan your orders so that we are able to book the freight and flowers well in advance.
Colours this year are definitely reflecting the party spirit with an earthy undertone: rose-golds, burnt coppers and creamy champagne. The more traditional deep reds and dark greens maintain a strong presence, so we can cater for all tastes.
At the Flower Hub we have also developed a range of Packed at Source (PAS) lines for the UK market. This enables us to provide bouquets which are ready packed and labelled with flower food supplied. They arrive shelf-ready, but with the added advantage that you can select flowers to your own requirements or client needs.

Our flowers are carefully selected to maintain quality. We regularly visit our growers throughout the year, following our product through the supply chain to ensure Trade compliance. We use accredited growers (18 are KFC Silver), ensuring also that they comply with our own ethical standards.
